Letters Katie Middlefield Family Novel

Letters Katie Middlefield Family Novel

This book is filled with situations that we all could face, not just the Amish. As the story unfolds, Katie and Johnny both realize they have let their wants become the focus of their lives rather than God being the center. Not only is it a book about self- soul searching for God's will but also about putting pride aside by letting others lend a helping hand, through love, prayer and friendship.

If you like real-life situations and are intrigued by the Amish community, it is a book that I would highly recommend reading. Letter writing plays an important part in this book, but so not to give it away, I'll just say you need to read it to understand the title. It is an uplifting read.

Disclosure: I was given a copy of this book by the publisher, Thomas Nelson, through Booksneeze blogger program for review. I was not required to write a favorable review nor was I compensated for my review. The opinions in this review are my own.

  3. Letters to Katie by Kathleen Fuller is magical. This is the story of Katie Yoder and Johnny Mullet and how they come together with the guidance of God. We read that both Katie and Johnny are not happy in life because of their wants and pride but once they let go of this kind of life they began to get what they wanted all along with a pure heart. I feel like this novel was exactly representative of a life filled with too many wants and not enough belief in a higher power. This is the kind of story that stays with you days after.

  4. "Letters to Katie" by Kathleen Fuller, book review

This is the newest in the Middlefield Family Novels and we see many of the same characters as in previous books. Katherine Yoder has had her eye on Johnny Mullet since they were children in school together, and he has disappointed her so many times that she thinks she should give up, but does not want to, quite yet. Johnny wants to prove to himself, his family and community that he can make something of himself, so he buys a small farm to begin his dream a horse farm.

Meanwhile, Sawyer and Laura, who we met in the previous book, are preparing for marriage, but this decision seems to be complicated by both of their families. Sawyer's grandmother, Cora, wants him to return to New York and run the family business. While Laura's family is concerned that she is rushing into marriage to quickly again and will be hurt.

This novel is easy to read and enjoyable. The strong family ties that we often see in Amish communities was very evident in this book. And the ability of the community to care for those in and out of their bounds was quite refreshing. While this book will stand alone, it is better read after the previous ones in the series.
